What does it take

To be loved by someone

To feel wanted, needed

To be somebody’s sun

When the wind has been colded

To be called mine

As to call someone so

To be told not goodbye

When you have to go

Someone

To spend mornings with

And nights without

But afters years it’d be

The other way around

Who knows how

To share something that

Lasts longer than a song

Something to bring back

When memories are gone

To love, to fight

To know that these things

Can together be right

Or else never akin

To know you

Your smile and tears

Even when they don’t show

Your grit and fears

And all that’s to know
