The Words I Heard Today

Today, I was called pretty.

Today, I was called gorgeous.

Today, I was called adorable, beautiful even.

Today, I heard all these words, beautiful words about me.

But today, I was wearing a dress I rarely do, and make-up on my face for a special thing too.

I wonder if today wasn’t the day, would I still hear the words I heard today?
